Sunfish, Lido, Laser Fun Race - Rescheduled

Join us for a fun afternoon at the lake.

Anyone with a centerboard boat is welcome to participate. The premise is for this to be a fun class race (like boats), e.g., 3 Sunfish, or 3 Lido's, or 3 Lasers, etc., against each other. The first boat in their class to cross the finish line wins. The race will not be timed, so there will be no handicap corrections for boats that don't have a class. If you would like to practice your skills at navigating around the race course for fun, you don't have to fit into a class to participate. Just try it out and see how you'd do!

Race course will be located in the area adjacent to and east of the marina.

1:00 pm - Skippers meeting.  The Sunfish will be launched and a fun format for the race will be discussed prior to the event. Depending on the number of participants, we could have a blind draw for the 3 available boats per race, winners advancing to the next round. RYC rescue boat will be on the water.

1:40 -1:45 pm - Demonstration Start for those new to racing. Please bring your device (wristwatch, etc.) capable of a 5-minute countdown.

2:00 pm - Race(s) Start

4:30 pm - Potluck BBQ at the shed.  Please bring a side dish to share, your beverage of choice and your entree for the BBQ.

5:00 pm or so - Dedication of newly constructed memorial picnic table.
