Racing

In addition to the Howard Prairie Regatta, RYC has racing thoughout the summer sailing season with races beginning in late May or early June and continuing to mid-September.  Races are generally held on Saturdays.  RYC has a mixed fleet and most of the races are Portsmouth handicap.  The club has traditionally maintained two broad categories of races- "The Trophy Races" and the  "Summer Series".  For the "Trophy Races", each day's  winner is awarded the perpetual trophy associated with that race at the annual Commodore's Dinner.  The Summer Series races are scored according to the results throughout the series.  Please see the current year's racing schedule for information and any sailing instructions for the club races.  The racing drop-down menu includes other racing interest items such as sailing conditions at the lake, the course map, and portsmouth ratings for club boats.

Rogue Yacht Club's Vice Commodore is the club's leader for organizing and developing the RYC racing program.  Contact the Vice Commodore for all things racing! (except what the weather will be like next weekend- but that can be found at the below website!)
