WHAT IS THE ROGUE YACHT CLUB?
The Rogue Yacht Club is an organized group, which has found pleasure through boating, with particular emphasis on sailing. The club held its first meeting in 1959 and was registered as a nonprofit organization, as provided by Oregon law. The Rogue Yacht Club promotes sailing as an inexpensive sport that can be enjoyed by persons of all ages. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE CLUB? The yachting year begins November 1 with informal meetings throughout the winter. By spring, the race committee has set up the race schedule, which begins in May and lasts into September. Races are held mainly at Howard Prairie Lake. The summer schedule includes racing, regattas, poker runs, raftups/potlucks and work parties. Basic sailing classes are offered to the public each year, and a boat show is held in conjunction with the Pear Blossom Festival. New officers are elected in the fall and installed at the annual Commodore's banquet, which concludes the year's activities. Google Map of Howard Prairie Lake WHO BELONGS TO THE ROGUE YACHT CLUB?
