Upcoming Rogue Yacht Club Events |
August 7, Saturday, OPEN BOAT DAY--11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the docks. This is your chance to show off your boat and promote interest in sailing by the general public. Decorate your boat, fly your flags, show off your trophies and your on-the-water lifestyle. The intent is to have as many boats as possible, both cruising and racing to that anyone interested can learn more about the different types of boats on the lake. Last year there was an impromptu raft-up in Hoxie Creek
later in the afternoon; this could happen again.
August 14, Saturday, COMMODORE'S CUP ALL-COMERS TROPHY RACE--This race is for novice or first time racers and is open to all sailors whether members of RYC or not. This is a low impact race for first timers and those who may have not raced in a long time. All novice sailors are welcome to compete. Sign up from 11:45 to 12:00 at the RYC shed. Skipper's meet for racing instructions at the RYC shed at noon; first race starts around 1:00 PM. This has been one of the most popular races of the season since its beginning.
August 21, Saturday, DOG DAYS OF SUMMER--SOCIAL EVENT--Celebrate summer with our annual hot dog and pot-luck feast. Past events of the day have included a RC sailboat race, a blind dinghy race, lots of social interaction, and food. Bring your own favorite hot dogs or sausages a side dish to share, place settings, and drinks. WATCH THIS SPOT FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT START TIME AND PLANNED ACTIVITIES.
